MY PASSION
To Inspire People to Serve
Serving with Compassion:

-
Normalize the Experience of Caregiving:
-
I believe that humans are connected and interdependent. Caregiving is a true example of compassion.
-

-
Educate About the Value of Caregiving:
-
The Person Centered Care model needs to be the gold standard in healthcare.
-
When we prioritize the "whole" person, we can begin to remove the strain from caregivers.
-

-
Advocate for Professional Caregivers:
-
We must rehumanize and revalue the caregiving profession.
-
Opportunities for growth and advancement while earning a living wage is required.
-

-
Champion Aging as a Prosperous Life Stage:
-
Having a mindset of ongoing growth and development in all life stages is key.
-
I encourage aging adults to take an active and mindful role in their life and health to continue accomplishing goals and dreams.
-
Challenge ageism by promoting the perspective that human aging is too rich to be reduced to chronological age, life expectancy, or mortality rates.
-

-
We are all Connected:
-
I believe that we were never meant to be independent of each other. We are social beings who need each other.
-
Interdependence should be normalized and could help remove the negative stigma of caregiving and the notion of dependence.

Could music be a miracle drug? In the article below, Alexander Pantelyat, MD, FAAN makes a strong case! He notes that "there's evidence that being involved in music may improve your life, and it may even prolong your life." Read more about his important work.
I met a remarkable person this week, Sarah Rasby. She is on a mission to support caregivers and told me about a documentary titled, Unseen: How We're Failing Parent Caregivers & Why It Matters. I wanted to share the trailer and and how you can host a screening. Thank you for all you are doing for caregivers Sarah Rasby!
I have recently become a bit obsessed with ellen langer and her mindfulness approach to life. I have listened to many podcasts with her as a guest, listened to her book, Counterclockwise, read several research articles and now am reading, The Mindful Body. I encourage you to find a way to hear/read her message. Pretty sure it's life changing.#mindfulness
One of the main reasons I got into the "Aging" industry was to change the negative narrative. This article, Everything You Know About Aging Is Wrong, has great insights and specific actions we can all consider to understand why we have this bias towards aging. A point that caught my attention is that "the negative narrative about ageism has some serious health consequences and thus creating poor outcomes for ourselves, our health and our longevity". Can't wait to check out the book referenced.

Molly has a servant heart through and through. She deeply cares about making the world a better place and creating a positive impact wherever she goes. I had the pleasure of working with Molly for sixteen years at Home Instead. During that time, she became a trusted colleague and friend. While Molly desires to help many, she is most passionate about supporting older adults. Throughout her career, she has been devoted to empowering seniors and helping them be seen, heard, and understood. She has a gift for this connection and desires to improve the aging experience everywhere. She is also passionate about care workforce. She desires to professionalize these careers so that caregivers everywhere feel that they belong and are treated with dignity and respect. Molly has a love of learning and is a researcher at heart. She desires to learn all she can about subjects that move her and about her teammates, so that she can better lead and connect across the team. While working full-time, she has pursued advanced degrees to expand her knowledge and prepare herself for new roles and projects. Molly is an excellent collaborator and excels at building teams who rally around a common mission. One of her greatest successes at Home Instead was leading the organization’s caregiver experience initiative. This work was critical to the growth and scale of our organization. It was also central to our company’s culture. KPIs related to recruitment, retention, engagement, and satisfaction all improved exponentially thanks to her leadership. Through this initiative, she united our franchise network and HQ team around the mission and importance of empowering our caregiver workforce. Molly is an advocate for those in need and a voice for those who need one. Her passion to authentically help others is contagious and fuels the work of the teams she serves on and leads. When Molly believes in the mission of an organization, she is deeply committed to it and will do everything possible to help the team achieve its goals. Molly is humble and seeks to always improve herself and her work. She is highly organized and gifted at building relationships. She uses these gifts to bring together disparate parts of an organization to solve a challenge. She is adept at coordinating the ins and outs of events and projects in addition to her subject matter expertise. She seeks ways to help others feel special and seen. Molly would be a wonderful addition to any team. Her leadership and genuine care for others brings great value and energy to any organization lucky enough to work with her.

I had the privilege of working with Molly for over 12 years, 10 of those as a departmental colleague and a little less than 2 years as her leader. In all aspects of her work at Home Instead, Molly consistently delivered immense value to both the company, her team and those she worked with. Molly is highly dependable, you can count on her to do what she has committed to and often more as her bar for exceeding expectations is high. Molly effectively led many projects in her roles at Home Instead. She was able to create compelling visions for the team while also providing leadership in achievement of established targets. As her leader, I valued Molly's passion for the mission; she was resilient and determined in making a positive impact with her work. Her growth mindset focused on not just completing responsibilities but on becoming even more effective in future outcomes. Molly is by far one of the best colleagues and employees I have ever worked with in my career. I have absolute confidence that she will excel in whatever she sets her mind to do and any company who is driven to succeed would be that much better with her on their team.
